Cashing out with side hustles💰

First thing first, Happy New Year! I hope that 2022 brings you nothing but joy and positivity. Now it’s back to business. In my previous post I told you how I picked up a side hustle during 2021. I finally decided to start my Poshmark. For those of you who don’t know what Poshmark is, it’s an online platform where you can resell items for a profit.

Before the pandemic, I had been going back and forth about making a Poshmark. My main question was if people really made money on the platform. I know people have been doing this for years on eBay and Poshmark wasn’t any different. While working from home during the pandemic, I decided to declutter. I sorted out old clothes and shoes that I no longer wore and looked at them to see if they were worth selling. I picked out some items that I wanted to sell and the other items I took to Goodwill.

After I had my items, I came up with a name for my store, took some pictures, and posted the items on the app. Before I knew it, I got my first sale. While coming up with the decision to start selling online, I watched a lot of YouTube videos to see how other people did it. I will say that it’s worth it. Since I don’t post new items all the time, my sales aren’t consistent but making a sale here and there is enough for me. I also secretly like packing orders lol. It’s just something about packing and sending an order to a customer that really makes me feel good. If you’re thinking about making a Poshmark, my answer is to just start it. If you don’t like it, you can always stop. It’s also a way to get some of your money back for things that you don’t want anymore.

So now that I told you about Poshmark, let me tell you about another side hustle that I literally started right before the new year. I decided to give Instacart a go. Instacart is another online platform where you are able to go grocery shopping for people. I’ve been doing this for the past couple of weeks and I must say that I like it. So far so good!

All in all, I love having my side hustles. It gives me the opportunity to make some extra cash and do things that I actually enjoy. If you have been thinking about starting a side hustle, just start. Pick something that you will enjoy and go for it. Check out my Poshmark to see what’s in my closet! https://posh.mk/g3BIZaWzEmb

Gearing up for 2022✨

The new year is literally one week away and all that I’ve been thinking about are my new goals. I will say that my new year has actually started in the beginning of the month. I just wanted to get a head start on the things that I plan to do in 2022 so I thought it would be a good idea to start those habits now.

As you know, I write my goals down every year. Looking back at what I wrote at the beginning of the year, I will say that I achieved some, started working towards others, and definitely slacked or didn’t accomplish some things on my list. Overall, I think the best improvement that I made this year was evolving into a better person…physically, mentally, and emotionally.

3 steps for reaching goals: write, plan, get inspired✅

Now it’s on to 2022. Some of my goals for this year were a little too big so I want to simplify them for the new year. I like to focus on shorter goals which have an easier plan in order to reach a larger goal in mind. My list will also be more specific which will make things easier when writing a plan. Lastly, referring to content that inspires me will help expand my mindset and really push me towards positivity and give me more motivation to make changes. Whether that be reading, watching videos, or listening to podcasts, daily inspiration is what I’m all about.

Looking back at your goals from the year, what changes have you made? Even if your change was small, remember that still counts. You may not have reached the ultimate goal that you had in mind but did you take steps towards it? As always, hold yourself accountable but also give yourself credit for those little changes. What’s your plan for your goals? Do you have a time limit or dates in mind of when you want to achieve things? Lastly, what do you do to stay motivated? Feel free to like, share, and comment below. 🤗✨

What’s New?

So I’ve been gone pretty much all year. To be honest, I lost a lot of motivation to keep up with blogging. Making posts and coming up with enjoyable content isn’t easy and it’s time consuming. However, this is something that I feel like could be a good hobby for me so I decided to give it another go.

Since I’ve been gone, I’ve been really focusing on myself. I’ve been taking time to develop better habits and focus all of my energy on making myself better all around. This includes building a healthier lifestyle through exercise and healthy eating habits and working on my personal life.

The biggest change that has happened this year was my birthday. I finally hit the big 30. At first I was nervous about this new chapter in my life but I’ve started to embrace the change and feel really good about it. I also started a side hustle. I’ll tell you all about it in a later post.

So now what’s to come? I have some new content on the way for sure. I will be making some changes for the better. Keep an eye out for future posts and feel free to read the old posts that I’ve done. Don’t be shy to comment and give feed back. I want my content to be enjoyable for everyone. Thanks for reading! ☺️

Hello 2021

As we all know, 2020 has been a crazy year. However, 2021 is here now and it’s time to make some changes. We may not be able to change everything but we can start with ourselves. One thing that I started doing for the past few years was writing down my list of goals for the year. Most of the time, my goals are small which make them easy to achieve. My list is usually short and sweet. After writing them down, I put my list away but always refer back to it throughout the year. That way, I’m able to cross a goal off that I have achieved or remind myself of what I want to do. Goals aren’t always easy to accomplish, whether they’re big or small. It’s all about having the time and dedication (and sometimes the finances) to achieve them.

What’s some of your goals for the year? If you have not written anything down, take 10 minutes to yourself and try to think of something that you’ve been wanting to do. By the end of the year, you can reflect on the changes that you’ve made. Trust me, it’ll make you feel so good to know that you dedicated some time to yourself. Also, don’t get discouraged if you did not achieve your goals by the end of the year. You may look back and notice that you didn’t complete a goal but you did start working towards it. This may be something that you transfer over to the next year. Just remember that change comes gradually. Looking at how far you’ve come, is a great result into becoming someone better.

Skims by KKW

So I finally decided to purchase some SKIMS by Kim Kardashian West. I decided to go with her cotton lounge wear since I’ve been looking at her products for a while. Before purchasing, I looked at all of the reviews that I could find. Kim’s products are not cheap so I wanted to make sure that I was putting my money to good use. I ended up purchasing the cotton loungewear leggings, boxers, and tank top in the color soot (black).

Cotton Rib Leggings $52, Cotton Rib Boxers $32, & Cotton Rib Tank $34

I will say, the quality is very good and the clothing hugs your curves. The only thing that I was not crazy about was the top. (I really could have done without it) My favorite item purchased was the boxers and I will definitely be buying more of those. I’ll probably purchase the bone (white) color next. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with my purchase. She did well with this line and you can tell that she invested her time into making quality clothing that people were going to want to buy.

Wrapping up 2020

It’s November 1st! That means that we have this month and next month until this year is over. Have you gone back to look at your goals list for the year? Take a look and evaluate what you’ve done. If you’ve accomplished anything on your list, cross it off and see if there’s one last goal that you can achieve before the end of the year. If you haven’t looked at your list all year, see if there’s a small goal that you can knock out. It’s a good feeling to be able to cross a goal off. Knowing that you’ve accomplished so much in a year will have you feeling great!

Fall Loungewear Mini Haul🍃🍂

So fall is officially upon us and I was no where near prepared for the weather. I’ve been trying not to spend money but today I decided to shop a little bit for some loungewear. Loungewear is in. From the most expensive brands to the cheaper ones, we see more and more lines coming out with basic loungewear for everyone. Today I decided to stop by Ross to see if I could find some inexpensive tops and bottoms to stock up on for the cold weather.

I got there around 10am. There was barely anyone in the store which is how I like to shop. I spent time in each section and came out with some really good things. I told you in my previous post how you really have to look in these discount stores to find what you want. And getting there early is the best idea since you want to be the first to see what’s on the shelves.

Hunter Rain Boots ($50), 2 long sleeve tops ($10 for both), 2 pairs of biker shorts ($5 each), 1 pair of leggings ($8), 3 pairs of sweat pants (about $10 each) & a yankee candle ($6-not pictured)

I had no intention of buying anything. I thought I would just look to see if there was anything in the store and I really lucked up with what I was looking for. I also found a cute 2 piece loungewear set from Walmart which was about $16 for the top and bottoms together. I would tell anyone to really check the discount stores for things. Since loungewear is in, it’s way more expensive now than it has ever been. I see matching sets for about $35-$40 these days and if you are on a budget, you can find something cheaper at a discount store for less.

Clearly, you can look good and still save money at the same time. It’s all about shopping around and making the most out of your shopping trips. Overall, I’m really impressed with my purchase. I found exactly what I was looking for plus more. Remember, it’s not about the price of the items, it’s how you put the outfit together.

It’s a Sale!

Ok so I said I was going to talk about fashion right? First thing on the list is discount stores and sales. One thing about me is that I love to save my money where I can. I mean who doesn’t love a sale right? Some of my favorite discount stores to shop at is TJ Maxx, Ross, and Kohl’s. The key to finding nice discounted items is to shop frequently. These stores have a limited amount of items so going frequently is the best way to find things that you may want or need. These stores also stock things ahead of the season so it’s best to constantly go before the season actually arrives. For instance, everyone is looking for a jacket after the weather breaks and gets cold. Your best bet is to go looking for a jacket when they first start to get their winter jackets in. That way you have options to choose from. If you love these stores like I do, I would say to go about 2 times a week if you’re really looking for something specific.

Finding clearance and sale items is something that I go straight for when I’m in a store. Don’t get me wrong, I will pay the full price for something if I really really like it. However, coupons have become some of my best friends lol. I often shop in Walmart. For anyone that doesn’t know what this store is, it’s a store that sells basically everything for lower prices. Walmart has food, personal and cosmetic items, clothes, home and house items, etc. Anything that you can think of, Walmart has it lol. I find clearance items in the store all the time. A lot of times the store will have a clearance isle which is just an isle that has a bunch of random items that are marked down for a really cheap low price. Also, the food section often has clearance products on the ends of the isles.

Overall, I love luxury and good quality things just like the next person but it doesn’t hurt to save money when you can. You have to really just go to different stores to see where the best prices are. Some items may be the same but two totally different prices. What’s some of you favorite stores to shop at? Let me know in the comment section!
